Electronic Expeditors Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to support wire harness and electrical/mechanical assembly work. This role is best suited for someone who can read and understand drawings, work instructions, wire lists, and bills of material, then build assemblies according to the required specifications.
This position requires hands-on assembly experience, good attention to detail, and the ability to follow customer and company quality requirements. Moderate soldering experience is needed, but the primary focus of the role is accurate assembly based on drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Build wire harnesses and electrical/mechanical assemblies according to drawings, work instructions, wire lists, blueprints, and bills of material.
Prepare work by reviewing work orders, assembly instructions, customer specifications, and required materials before starting the job.
Select, cut, route, loop, wrap, tie, and secure wires and cables as required by the assembly drawing.
Attach wires, cables, connectors, terminals, plugs, and related components using proper assembly methods, including crimping and moderate soldering when required.
Apply protective materials such as cable ties, sleeving, sealing liquid, or epoxy-based resin when specified.
Verify completed assemblies by checking dimensions, layout, routing, continuity, and workmanship against the drawing and customer requirements.
Use basic test equipment such as an ohm meter or continuity tester to confirm proper electrical connections.
Identify assembly issues and notify the supervisor when clarification, material, or additional support is needed.
Complete required documentation, labels, markings, and production forms.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company QMS procedures, safety rules, and work instructions.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with wire harness assembly, cable assembly, or electrical/mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, schematics, wire lists, work instructions, and BoMs.
Moderate soldering skills required.
Crimping, wire cutting, stripping, routing, tying, and cable preparation experience preferred.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and build assemblies according to requested specifications.
Ability to use basic hand tools and electrical test equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work well with others and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
Preferred Qualifications
2-year technical degree, associate degree, or related postsecondary training is a plus.
Experience working in a quality-controlled manufacturing or assembly environment.
Knowledge of customer specifications, workmanship standards, or QMS procedures is helpful.
